We broke ground on July 8, 2020 by first ripping the ill-placed laundry room off the kitchen. For a good purpose! It was hogging all the beautiful views!
My project of re-installing the laundry room on the front, enclosed porch was interrupted by COVID sending all my kids home from school. It would not be the last thing to be interrupted in 2020. The laundry room stands mostly complete as of March 2021, and I heard a rumor the kids may go back to school almost exactly 1 year from the date they were sent home… hope springs forth… I will finish it. I will finish it.
First up, the tear down.
Next, we (Mike) removed all the debris, filled in the crawl space under the laundry room, dug out the old flagstone patio (that was embedded in concrete), and cleaned out some nice footers for the addition.
Then came lots of rain, rebar & concrete, then blocks and more concrete…and more rain.
Next up, walls!
